infoDART Hot-Key Search

Description
IHS' logistics databases and document library can be queried simply by highlighting
a NSN/NIIN, CAGE, Part Number, MIL Spec ID, APL/RIC, vendor name or document number
within almost any application and pressing a user defined Hot-Key sequence. A search
value may also be selected by hovering the mouse over a value and pressing the defined
Hot-Key. By default, the Hot-Key sequence is "CTRL+SHIFT+A". The default Hot-Key can be modified within the
application's configuration dialog.
Default Hot-Key Action
The default action of the Hot-Key displays the pop-up menu below so that users
can select the appropriate search type for the data highlighted. Users can also
select a default search type from the application's pop-up menu to suppress this
pop-up menu all together. This feature is convenient when you will be doing research
on a single type of data.

Hot-Key Test Drive
Let's give the Hot-Key a try! The application must be currently running and
visible within the Windows system tray before proceeding. Highlight the NIIN
data value within the table below and press the user defined Hot-Key
(Default: CTRL+SHIFT+A) sequence to view affiliated data. Affiliated
data for this NIIN will be displayed in the default web browser. Try out
the other sample data values below.

Changing the default Hot-Key Sequence
The default Hot-Key can be changed within the application's
configuration dialog. Right clicking the
application’s system tray icon and selecting
the "Configuration" menu item displays the configuration dialog. You can safely
select just about any Hot-Key sequence, but avoid using any known existing
Hot-Key sequences like "Windows+E", "Windows+F", or "Windows+R" which are reserved
by Windows. Select a "Hold Key(s) / Modifier Key(s)" option and a letter (A-Z) from the
drop downs provided in the general configuration dialog.
